PJ
Library of VermontThe Yearning
for Learning Center, with the help of the Harold
Grinspoon Foundation, the PJ Library Steering Committee, and some very
generous donors, has launched a new program called the PJ Library of Vermont. Now,
any family with at least one Jewish parent may sign up their child(ren) age 6
months through 7 years old, to receive FREE monthly Jewish books for one
year. They may renew their FREE subscription after the first year. Every
book comes with helpful and informative parenting guides. Parents also receive
books on Jewish parenting, family life and other topics of interest. There is
no obligation. Special PJ Library programs will be available to the families. Grandparents
who have grandchildren living in Vermont are welcome to sign them up. If you have
grandchildren living in other states, you could go to the PJ Library website,
find out if their community is sponsoring the PJ Library and sign them under their
community. If their community is not yet sponsoring the PJ Library, you could
pay a $60 fee per grandchild to the Harold Grinspoon Foundation. Your
synagogue is eligible to receive one set of free books for one age group for one
year. Please contact Rabbi Tobie Weisman
for more information. If
you have children in this age range or know people who do, please encourage them
to sign up by going to www.pjlibrary.org
and clicking on Vermont. So far 90 children are signed up for this first year.
We have raised enough money for 250 children to sign up for the first year, so
don't delay! If you would
like to help sponsor the PJ Library of Vermont, be on the Steering Committee,
help out in any way, or have any questions, please feel free to contact Rabbi
Tobie Weisman. Happy
Reading, Rabbi Tobie Weisman Founding
